(yes, really)
After six years together Sarai and Kenn decided to make it official.
We were just as surprised as you are.
The wedding was on Friday, September 14 at the Brazil Room, an event space in Tilden Park in Berkeley, California. We got together with around sixty of our friends and family members to celebrate with food, wine, and song. The party was a huge success and we think everyone had a great time. We then followed-up with two weeks in sunny Italy — Napoli, Capri, and Amalfi — for more wine, espresso, and swimming in the Mediterranean.
The party was semi-casual. That is, it wasn't formal or traditional, but we did have a dress code of sorts in that we asked everyone to wear hats. We had some great vegetarian food, Italian wines and Prosecco, and Jojo made three fantastic cakes. The music was eclectic, as was the guest list. In keeping with our usual style, we rounded off the evening with drinks at Acme after the wedding party wound up. Take a look at the evening's playlist and the dinner menu.
We've got lots of pictures! Below you'll find a large selection of professional photos and we'll also add photos or links for anything taken by guests as we get them. Video was taken and may make an appearance here as well.
And don't miss the photobooth pictures! High-resolution photos suitable for printing can be found in Sarai's wedding collection on Flickr.
We also have pictures from our trip online in the photo gallery: Napoli, Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento, Amalfi, and Atrani. It was a wonderful two weeks that ended much too soon.
Most everything for this wedding was done by ourselves. Sarai wrote about and posted pictures of much of the process on her web site, and Kenn has some miscellaneous stuff on his. Our photographer Jillian also had some nice things to say.
We want to thank everyone who came out for this, and a few people in particular: Stacy, for returning the favor Kenn did her and Gary back in 1995 by getting ordained and officiating; Nathan, for taking video and managing the music and sound equipment; Jojo for coming to San Francisco a week early and spending three days making the awesome desserts; Helen and Seung for providing Jojo with the kitchen space to do it. And thanks to everyone else who helped out by setting up, taking down, or just by being there and making it such an awesome party.
